inevitable plastic!

went to super mart with two tote bags today. YET i still ended up bringing back a lot of plastic! bread, vege, milk, toilet rolls, detergent... every single item i bought was packed in plastic! sigh...

try shopping at wet market instead cos' you will not see so much plastic. that's what i do. i find that things in wet market are cheaper and sometimes, more ECO than supermarket. trust me.

maybe you should go to Pasar instead of super market?

ummm, i think US supermarket is better. they dont wrap up vege and fruits, so i can just put them in my tote bag!! maybe you can write to related department to voice that out?

Shangji-no, welcome! :-)

Pris, hmmm... the market near my house is really small.

Kuan, do you go to wet market as well?

Bun, good advice! but frankly i'm not that outspoken and aggressive.

anyway, good to know that everybody is doing eco.

That's crazy! I am chocked to see that even the broccoli is wraped! I buy my fruits and vegetable in the supermarket or at the market (I live in Germany) but in both cases they are always without any package, just my tote bag.

I remember that it was like on your picture in France when I was a child but now not any more. I hope it will change where you live too, or is it some kind of hygiene rules?

hi Johanna, i have no idea why they wanna wrap it. even if it's for hygiene rules, it's stupid unnecessary hygiene rules. hope they will change to better. :-(
